What we collect
- Your email address, so we can send you the newsletter.
- Your state, so we can show you giveaways you're eligible to enter.
- Basic email activity. Our email provider records things like when you signed up and whether an email was delivered, opened or clicked. This helps us know the newsletter is reaching people and which giveaways readers find useful.
We don't ask for your name, address, phone number or payment details, and we don't need them. This website doesn't use advertising or tracking cookies.
How we use it
- To send you the weekly Tide & Trophy email and occasional notes about the newsletter itself.
- To filter the giveaways we send you by your state.
- To understand, in general, what readers find useful so we can make the newsletter better.
Who handles your information
Our email list runs on Kit (Kit, Inc., formerly ConvertKit). Kit stores your email address and state and sends our emails on our behalf. Kit processes this information under its own security and privacy practices, described in the Kit Privacy Policy. Our website host may also keep standard server logs (such as IP address and browser type) to run and protect the site.
We never sell your data
We don't sell, rent or trade your email address or any other information. We don't share it with giveaway sponsors, charities or advertisers. We only share it with service providers that help us run the newsletter (like Kit), or if the law requires it.
Unsubscribing
Every email has an unsubscribe link at the bottom. One click and you're off the list. You can also email us and we'll remove you.
Your choices
You can ask us to show you, correct or delete the information we hold about you at any time by emailing us. If you unsubscribe, we stop emailing you. Kit may keep a record that your address unsubscribed so you aren't emailed again by mistake.
How long we keep it
We keep your information while you're subscribed. If you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it, we remove it from our list, apart from any unsubscribe record described above.
Who the newsletter is for
Tide & Trophy is meant for adults in the United States. Most giveaways require entrants to be 18 or older (some 21+). We don't knowingly collect information from children under 13, and if we learn we have, we'll delete it.
Giveaway sponsors are separate
When you enter a giveaway, you deal directly with its sponsor, and their privacy policy and official rules apply. We don't control what sponsors collect, and we never enter giveaways or submit your information for you.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we'll update the effective date at the top of this page. If a change is significant, we'll mention it in the newsletter.
